I had the most annoying nightmare the other day.
This is how it went:
I was working on Office Outlaw and building the forum. You know, the usual stuff. But something felt off. I felt like I was an employee of the forum rather than the owner of it.
So I'm doing my usual stuff, when all of the sudden, some admin guy with the username "@User" posts a message that says, "Roight, so we're gunna migrate from Xenforo, roight, to Microsoft Teams".
I was baffled and just thought to myself, "... That doesn't make any sense!?" Then suddenly, the entire forum changed into some bland mono-block beige-cage... thing?
Members started posting saying that this isn't working out and that they have families they need to feed. The admin guy messaged me and said, "Just tell them it's all still the same. Same place they know and love, just diffferent, roight"/
So, I did my job and I kept trying to reassure them that it's still the same forum, it just looks different... and functions differently... But it's the same... (people?)
I saw the members online dropping from several thousand until it hit 2.
Before the last member logged off, they sent me a message saying, "It's okay, it was worth a try, you gave it your best", and then left.
That nightmare is an amalgamation, but you can take a lot away from it.
