Hey everyone,

I’ve been around the forum for a while and I’m starting to notice all these cool tags:

  • Sapphire
  • Founder
  • Patron
  • Hot Rod
  • …and now suddenly I’m seeing “Platinum Member” pop up.

I get the idea behind most of these (Founder = early supporter, Patron = contributor, etc), but what exactly is “Platinum Member”?

  • Is it tied to post count?
  • Is it invite-only?
  • Is there a donation or subscription involved?
  • Or is it just manually assigned by mods?

Would love some clarity for myself and probably a lot of newer members who are wondering the same!

Thanks in advance 🙌

There's a site guide on it here: https://officeoutlaw.com/threads/everything-you-need-to-know-about-platinum-members.953/

There's a table that explains user levels here: https://officeoutlaw.com/threads/all-user-levels-benefits-on-office-outlaw.958/

Founders were just some of the early members who joined and helped build up the forum back in March. They just contributed by finding bugs, posting content, identifying issues on the forum, and taking a chance on the place before we had any real activity.

Platinum Membership is technically automatically assigned through a criteria I have on the backend, although we're looking into bringing in nominations for it as well. Right now, we just promote some members into the usergroup level based on prior statuses. It doesn't require any paid membership level, it's just a way to show appreciation to notable members in the community by providing them with benefits and discounts.

The only usergroups people can ever get into via donation is Patron and Sapphire.

So this is basically give by staff. Not any specifics to achieve this status.

Thanks
Yes.

If you want to know how to get the status, just keep participating here and genuinely adding to the community. When we bring in nominations, there could be a chance for an existing member to even nominate you. But the exact criteria for getting it automatically will remain a secret to prevent others from gaming it.

Noted. thanks for clarification
