We were watering the plants in the front yard today when I noticed a nest on one of our string lights.

There's been a hummingbird in our front yard every day, so this explains why!

I managed to get a quick picture of the nest before the mother came back to confirm that there's an egg in there already.

It's a hot day, so we put some water in a bowl nearby.

There was a hummingbird that came into our house back on February 4th and perched on my hand, so it would be neat if it's the same one as back then.

Ahhh man that's tiny, I love watching Billy Moore on YouTube going around chatting to communities

Starlings in Ireland will fly up and down fields playing with your dog, Billy was recording a woman out drinking called the Squirrel Lady I think in Liverpool...

I love adventures creatures, and anything small

from the first picture, I thought it was a wasp nest
That’s funny you say that, when I first spotted it, that’s what I was worried about as well. I got closer and saw it was just a nest, though.

Put up a feeder, they really do flock to them, You will see a lot of other shit trying to get into it too :P
Thing is, we don`t have them in my country.

My mother loves hummingbirds. She puts out a feeder every year to watch them, but has never gotten close to one landing on her hand. That is really cool.

My father puts out sunflower seeds for the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. The chipmunks sometimes will let us touch them, but I never thought hummingbirds would perch on a human hand. That is awesome.

It might've been the same one, or maybe they just find you very calming.

What cool birds have you got over there? The fellas that bred my pup have really cool racing pigeons and tumbler pigeons(Dutch)
We got a lot of weird birds, but really, I don`t get a hard-on on birds so I really don`t care about them, think they are a bit boring actually, just birds.

Wow

@t2van you've got a chance to shed those sheep

I went outside to take out the trash and saw the hummingbird in her nest again!

That's a smart spot because that bulb is warm.

I'm taking the picture from further away, this is just zoomed in.

Hummingbird eggs take about 2 1/2 weeks to hatch, and they stay in the nest for about 3 weeks after that.

This is interesting. Reminds me of when I visited Mysuru Zoo last week. It was really cool in terms of the types of birds that were there.

Ah bummer, Well maybe you have some sort of local alternative thing for wild life. I duno where you live, around here we use certain types of things to attract certain animals. For a fox you might put lots of places for mice to live in your yard, For moose you use apples and corn, for bears and wolves you hang up intruders by their ankles and wait
