Instagram 👀 Instagram To Allow Search Indexing Of All Posts & Reels From 10th July 2025

So I went to Instagram and I got this pop up:

Even though Instagram already gets indexed by Google so slightly confused.

The Instagram help page isn't all that useful.

My best guess is Instagram is showing the average Instagram user that this is what search indexing is and how it works on a basic level.

You can stop it by turning it off in the settings. The way they kept it was private account users will always be secure. But if you keep your acc public you are automatically giving them consent.
