My social media accounts were hacked today

Hello Everyone,
It's a notification for all of you i can say that... Please add more emails and phone numbers to your fb accounts or IG, today in the morning i got a message in Indian time at 5.54 am that your accounts need verification with pop up that your are trying to violate our policy... first i think i didn't do anything yesterday or any day that makes policy violate and sudden i remember may be due to my kiddo page.. even that is also down.. i came to laptop and started verify everything and it's asking for other number i tried that too but my fb acc is disabled.. i search on google my fb is hacked what i do... then i got a direct link to recover my account and in that way i did it.. it takes time but done successfully... in Instagram they asked for my ID proof so i submit my old proof which is not link to my tax or bank accounts.. Because you know if you submit that and it's a part of hack they will use your info and number too. as i got a notification that your ads is on danger as i never posted any ads on my fb account.

So if you face any problem in future or tomorrow be prepare, i'll say do it now..

someone hacked it and may be trying to post an ads which is being rejected.. I never used my account for ads.

Actually, I see small polish business owners complain about this once in a while in facebook groups. Even up to their cards being emptied because they ran ads for their business in the past and had their card connected, later someone hacks their facebook and uses their ads account and connected card . At least they don't have your card .

Yes, May be.. but in my account none card is being added.. something fishy is that when I tried to recover genuinely not through hacked link, its saying your account is disabled. Which i realise how deep they can go if I haven't tried through fb hack link to recover my acc

Someone hacked my LinkedIn and changed the name, profile picture and deleted all of profile. They added a fake female AI generated profile and changed the industry to fashion. Probably some kind of phishing scam.

I didn't realise during the vacation. Luckily the account got suspended within 1 day and I could retrieve it with id verification the next week

It's always good to be extra paranoid and have 2FA.

I also had my indian CC hacked 2 months ago. Luckily the bank flagged the multiple payments made and I charged back the one that went successful. Luckily the bank sent me a refund. Just had to deal with the phone banking for a few hours.

True, these days phone scam is being common for the people but it's hard to retrieve to us.. As we are on social accounts, have so many important images in our phone on cloud data.. but it's a work for them.. to earn money while scamming people.

Did you not have a strong password or did you accidentally click some link that led to all this?

Still no clue about the reason, yes i have strong password including 2-factor authentication..

Two-Factor Authentication can help, but it won’t protect you if you’re being SIM-swapped. That said, I doubt this happened to the OP, since SIM-swapping usually involves tricking the mobile carrier into switching the number to a different SIM card, and it’s typically used against high-profile targets, such as those with large amounts of cryptocurrency.

Regarding your Facebook account being hacked, I’ve heard of several cases where attackers tried to gain access to Facebook Ads accounts just to sell them elsewhere. These accounts can be quite valuable, especially if they are in good standing.

I had something similar happen to an old twitter account I had back in the day. It got hacked and turned into some kind of thirst trap account. I recovered it when I logged on but eventually I just deleted that account.

I never used it anyway, which is why it took so long for me to notice it was hacked. I figured it was better to delete something that was an obvious security risk.

I’m still glad I deleted it. Twitter or Y or whatever it’s called is a real shitshow now.
