I am well aware that both such arts are in the title of this section.

But be warned: copywriting is not the same as content writing.

Copywriting requires one to master the art of persuasion, to be concise in only a few words.

Content writing is meant to inform the reader and keep them engaged.

They each have a purpose and you should know when to use copywriting techniques and when to use content writing techniques.

That is all.
 
I used to do content writing and clients called it copywriting. It paid peanuts. Real copywriting pays a lot more per word and is generally used to sell.
 
You do not sell copywriting per word, this goes per piece.
I believe he means it as a comparison, not that it actually pays per word.

Consider being paid to write short, well-thought-out ads for pay-per-click campaigns when compared to longform content. It "pays more per word" that you're required to write.
