Pending Remove Founding/Platinum/Sapphire/Patron If Banned

I was reading another feedback thread on here about adding in a banned user role. Here it is for anyone who hasn't seen it. https://officeoutlaw.com/threads/banned-user-role.3422/

Good to see this added in. But I have a proposal to go alongside this: remove the user's other statuses.

I read the admin's response and get the reasoning behind leaving it on the accounts. But personally I think it should be removed.

At the minimum it creates confusion but I also feel like it's honoring members who were removed from the community after abusing it.

If you guys want to avoid making it look like you're rewriting history I get that. But it's one thing to rightfully demote them and a whole different thing to act like they never had that status to begin with. Do the first one, don't do the second one.

I think you make a fair point here.

I’m fine with changing this so that banned members have their other statuses removed.

I’ll wait to see if this gets 7 upvotes.

I agree, but only if it's a perma. A temp ban shouldn't remove a Sapphire, just some of the privileges. Shouldn't remove a patron either.
I think that plats and founders should be held to a high standard, so any ban should remove them.

For sure not for temporary bans.

For Platinum and Founding, the notice point threshold for a temporary ban is actually the same as it is for the removal conditions listed in the rules for those groups.
