I've got a noob question for the forum today.

I'm not too well versed in crypto, but I have about $50 in TRC-20 USDT on my Ledger wallet.

Whenever I go to exchange it, trade it, or anything along those lines, it throws up an error saying there's not enough energy for the transfer.

I'm at a loss here as I have no idea what that means. When I look this up, people are just saying you need to purchase energy?

Anyone know how to do this with Ledger? I just want to send Tron in order to get something, but this crupto stuff is like a labyrinth to navigate.

Yeah, same problem, so fuckin complicated that I ended up being paid in fiat each time

I like this crypto stuff sometimes just as an alternative, but it’s no wonder it isn’t catching on when you’ve got over complicated coins like this.

Do you have TRX coin in your wallet as that is needed for making transaction .

This happens because of how the TRON network works. Your TRC-20 USDT needs TRX (Tron’s native coin) to pay transaction fees.

Why you see “Not enough energy”

On TRON there are two resources:

  • Bandwidth – used for simple transfers
  • Energy – used for smart contract transactions (like sending TRC-20 USDT)

Sending TRC-20 USDT uses energy, so if your wallet has 0 TRX, the transaction fails.

For fucks sake, how to have the TRX? Can you exchange what you currently have to get TRX or do you need to buy more crypto to be able to take out your crypto? 😐

This was such a good explanation. I don’t know why the error doesn’t just there’s not enough TRX, but I can work with this.

Thanks, friend.

Good fucking grief. Imagine if to spend dollars you needed your other dollars too?

By the way, this also applies to the ERC-20 network, but with ETH. If you don’t have enough ETH to cover the gas fees, the transaction won’t go through either. It’s annoying.

Nopes do 1 thing if you have any other crypto like BTC , Solana , ETH or anything convert that into TRX . Without TRX even you can't swap USDT into TRX.

Yes , that's how the crypto world works .

@1974Mustang Check how many TRX is needed for sending / selling those USDT . I will help you with that.

Also, there's no need to buy much. TRC20 network is cheap, so $1 worth of TRX is more than enough for quite a few transactions. So don't swap more than you have to.
