I went through my settings and saw that there's no way to stop others from viewing your profile. The ignore feature doesn't seem to do that either.

I don't know if this feature either doesn't exist or was removed, but could we get something like that?

I'm too old to deal with kids trying to play detective online. I just want to post and enjoy the community.

I had to go looking for the changelog post about this.

April 23, 2025

The server has been frustratingly slow the last couple of hours. It's an issue on the host's end, so there's nothing more we can do about it. We are buying the new server right now, so we'll start prepping things to migrate over.
  • The support desk is live.
  • We have a credits feature enabled. We're testing it out right now just to see if it works for this forum, but you can use it to get the "Hot Rod" badge during this testing phase.
  • We removed "credits" from the navigation bar. It was making it look a bit cluttered and like a casino website. You can now find your credits when you click your profile name.
  • An exploit @Rem found with the credits system and the reactions system has been patched. You can read more about it here: https://officeoutlaw.com/threads/new-credit-system-exploit.704/post-6279
  • "Nobody" and "Outlaws you follow" has been removed as an option from the account privacy settings. This was a suggestion from @Rem, and I think we all know that feature was really only used by previously banned members in certain other places.
  • We've cleaned up the profile preview and profile pages so that it no longer displays a dozen different stats. We started doing this after a discussion with @roydan on making sure the forum isn't overwhelming to new users.
  • Additionally, we removed the redundant "star counter" from profiles because you can just see the number of stars someone has; we don't need a counter for it.
We'll be making more changes to streamline the experience on the forum over the next few days as well.
This feature was disabled about a month before you joined. It was suggested by @Rem and added in based on the community opinion at the time.

If this receives seven upvotes, we can add it back in if the community feels differently about it now. All I ask is that you read the original suggestions thread before voting to understand the reasoning behind the decision.

What happens if this doesn't get 7 upvotes? Is there nothing I can do or is there a way to have this enabled just for individuals?

Yeah, an admin can set it up for you.

Go ahead and use the support desk and ask for this to be done for you. It’ll set your profile so that nobody can view it.

Can I have this done too? I saw what happened in the other thread and it creeped me out to say the least.

It's the kind of thing those redditors with too much free time do.

Yeah, submit a ticket here: https://officeoutlaw.com/support/

Something to keep in mind is that I'm not sure if the change is permanent when we do it this way. From what I understand, if you change your privacy settings yourself, it'll revert the changes.

You know my opinion on this 😂

Upvoted. Nevertheless I'm fine now with my profile being public but frozen with nice messages on it, good to avoid people shitting all over it. Nice to see more people are pro-privacy.

I don’t think there is an issue with making your profile private. The only issue I see is when people do it for malicious reasons. But it would be a good idea to implement it and see how many people use it and how it is being used. I’m upvoting this.
