Sorry it's a BBC link

Wired headphones were supposed to die with the headphone jack. Instead, they're making a comeback as consumers seek out better sound quality and technology from a simpler time.

Are you a wired or wireless user?

I got wired for music but when I game I prefer wireless I think that's down to the freedom of movement from the console mind also forgetting you can be "plugged in"

I haven't used wired headphones in years. I'm surprised to hear they're going up in sales.

I prefer wireless earbuds for nearly everything.

Yeah the article highlights going back to cultural trends, shifts, anti tech, a bit of a snub at apple for having no jack as well as the audio performance.

Id argue the audio is better with wired BUT my gaming headset is VERY good. So it's different.

I think wireless get used for almost everything, for me it's just nice to have a dedicated pair for audio only I can strap on listen to The Who / Depeche Mode early hours without bothering anyone.

Apple taking away the jack is something I still have gripes with.

I know audiophile types use wires. I don't consider myself much of one but I do like good quality sound. Wireless used to be garbage back in the day but it's come a long way now to the point where it's all I use. Bluetooth also still has stability issues at points.

I'll probably take a look at what wired stuff is available these days just to see how far that has come.

I still use wired headphones on my PC and macbook. Not on my phone bc @Rem made me buy a phone with no audio jack. I didn't even bothered to check if it had one because I thought every phone had them.

I prefer wired headphones, but I have both. The issue with wireless headphones is that if they fall out and hit the ground, they are usually broken. It doesn’t take much to break them, which I don’t like. I never had this problem with wired headphones.

stopped using wired headphones because they always would wear out at the jack. The way I held my phone or music player meant the cord would always be at a near 90 degree angle so they all would wear out in about a year

tried a wireless pair just to see how if they would last longer. I still have them.

Wired when at the PC - ZMF Atrium. You can't beat the sound quality of wired headphones and I can't really be bothered to have another device to charge.

Bluetooth when working out or on a call as cable gets in the way - Sennheiser Sport does the job and holds in the ear well.

I do wired, out of being cheap.

most phones dont even have 355 audio jack anymore
been on the upwards trend for a long while now

Been using wired headphones since December last year. Cheap, good sound, and it works. Plus I don't get to wait until a headphone is charged before I can continue listening to my playlist.

I destroyed my Pixel 7 phone while absolutely drunk.

Since then I have 3 pairs of wired earphones and 2 pairs of bluetooth earphones. It works well with backup Xiaomi phone that has jack compared to Pixel.

I ditched audio-technica headphones because it was too heavy for my non-stop use and little improvement in quality wasn't worth keeping it on my head.

I had to take a deep breath after reading this.
Shocking price.

Actually my go tos were audio technica m50 until they dies a couple of years ago. Had them for about 5 years.
Wanted to get the m70 but decided against it because I wanted to use them both for listening to music and for sound design, and the 50s are a better fit for that.

I don't use any headphones , they give me headache somehow .
Is that due to volume or have you check to see if you got hearing balance issue (can't think technical term).. But I know that's an issue for some like a small %
