The trailer just came out and uh... I don't know if I'm up for it.

I really liked the original movies but I'm just getting fatigured with all these remakes.

It's like oh look they did another slight change or so and so said a line differently. It's just tiring. I might watch it still but only out of boredom.

My wife showed it to me Yesterday. The only thing I noticed is that even though it says it's based on the books, it looks like it's based on the movies (except for a few forced WOKE inclusions).

So.. nope.

This is EXACTLY my problem with it too.

Those woke inclusions like changing Snape's race it's like they didn't even think about how those scenes between him and James are going to look! You know what I'm talking about.

Now James is going to look racist!

It looks like a shitty fucking high school play of the movie.

Even if you're bored don't even watch that shit. Don't encourage these morons to make more garbage like this.

Aside from all of the obvious issues, it seems to have the same issues a lot of modern TV series' and films have; it feels cold and lifeless. So it looks completely unflattering when compared to the original films.

This just feels completely pointless to have invested money in. What would I get out of watching this that I wouldn't from seeing the films again? It just looks the same only slightly worse.

I am so done with this age of endless remakes that feel dead inside.

That gay ass Lion King movie that came out some time ago comes to mind.

Went from expressive 2D animation to the most lifeless boring realistic lions I've ever seen.

How they made the lions both realistic and uninteresting should by studied.

Not to mention
Snape is gonna be a grumpy lesbian *and* Harry's mom, Lilly, used to have an intimate (whether a bit beyond platonic or fully physical) relations with a woman.

Yes, I`m a sucker for that weird UK dude.

Ok, we can groupwatch and comment it here...
Unfortunately OpenClaw can't watch for us. :D

I used to play Harry Potter game, but when I saw spiders and monsters, I removed the game forever and never managed to finish it.
10 years later I opened Harry Potter book and struggled to understand anything in English, which told me my English is A2 level at best. My friend gave me a false impression I have C2 level, what a liar.

I'm wondering to this day, why would someone tell you you're 300% better at something than you really are. That's toxic af.

Sure, I'll be giving it a chance. I loved the books when they came out and I enjoyed the movies. My main issue with the movies, as is often the case, was a lot of details from the books is cut out to fit everything in a 2 hour window. The showrunners for this seem to be wanting to address that problem. Also Hans Zimmer composing the soundtrack for the show is a win in my book.

I don't give a shit what color skin the actors/actresses are, if they do their job and act the character well then I'm all for it. There are plenty of ways to approach the bullying between James and Severus without it boiling down to racism, and even if it does touch that territory, we're talking about a literal fiction book whose primary antagonist literally wants to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing. It's not like this theming wasn't explored in the books already.

It's been 25+ years since the first film was released, I think enough time has passed to allow a fresh take to draw in a newer audience and create some comfort food for us older audiences and fans. We've had remakes of films for ages, and is nothing new, some of the most beloved movies of the 80s/90s are remakes of 50s/60s films. People just love to bitch and moan about anything these days.

They wanted to have sex with you.

Looks stupid as shit lmao. I wouldn't watch this recycled garbage if it was the last thing on earth.

Let me guess, they replaced dumbledore with a black chick with a shaved head?

I wish. They did this to Snape of all people.

I heard they're going to continue with a movie after first season

Who tf is that guy? Looks like a reggae caretaker at my classmates dorms who used to sell weed to everyone.

Should have just cast Wesley Snipes if they were going to make a move like this and called him Professor Snipe. Bet they wouldn't have gotten as much backlash
