There’s been a load of pushback by regular joes against AI the last several months. I don’t have any specific article to link to but they’re all claiming this.

Thing is people I’ve spoken with in person seem to be developing some anti-AI sentiment. Some are just outright refusing to use it now.

It’s almost like it was shoved in everyone’s faces so much that some are now becoming suspicious about it.

For me personally I’ll still continue to use it. It’s a good tool for my needs and I’m going to take full advantage of it.

I think everyone is getting tired of the AI slop tbh.

Can't blame em but for example I use AI to help me analyse YouTube shorts data.

And of course more personal uses of AI : )

Yeah, I think there are lots of things:

Cost and infrastructure seem to be holding growth back so the old progression to AI replacing jobs by 2027 is now 2030 and will no doubt be beyond that. It has generally slowed down or at least news on developments has - unless I'm not looking hard enough.

I don't know if human nature for accumulating wealth can get out of it's own way to invest what is needed to get the AI we are all being told to fear.

BUT then I also think if it's gone that quiet maybe there are things going on behind the curtain we should all be concerned about.

There is general pushback in terms of education and the impact it's having with studies.

AI slop as @UnusualSubstance mentioned.

Data centres as much as you see new places getting built it's just as quick you see some complaints about water to go hand in hand or the imapct on the community it's having.

There is also a ton of union-specific and job-related pushback I think alot of that comes from all the AI will replace jobs that we have all been programmed to accept.

The AI slop is a big problem. As far as the average internet user is concerned it’s running rampant.

100%

You also have places slowing down infrastructure form being built. Lots of petitions in a wide variety of places right now and that affects the progression of AI. Makes people think it’s getting stagnant.

What kind of things going on behind the curtains do you think are happening? Any ideas?

Agree

Nah, no idea, I'm not there.

But you could argue that the rate of AI releases being given to the "public" is actually 2-3 versions behind, if not more, than what is being used by governments and larger corporations.

Like it's being released as "thicker" than what it actually is, which is the only reason for why people who work on this stuff are scared. I mean I think that kind of thinking is obvious anyway, but releases and advances between versions don't seem that much of a jump in innovation but maybe that's just me and being naive; I don't do that much with it to notice anything WOW to be honest.

Yeahh, will be using it for sure since it works for me for some things but it's also overhyped and doesn't work for literally everything. But I'll admit that after my sales going up and down, up and down, down down down 😐, then back up again after these fuckin CEOs decided to hire people again (and also look for freelancers/contractors again) I got really, REALLY pissed at AI. So what that it simplifies some processes for me if I won't have clients in the first place 😐. Who the fuck will buy their products and services if they make avid shoppers like me* loose their income 😐.

*Yeah I always have extra baggage hahah. Fr tho. Trying to cut back eh.

For some people, yes. For some people, no. For me, kind of.

Given that AI companies operate at a loss, it either needs to take off soon or the bubble will burst.

I for sure am using it to clone myself ten times over 😁

Don't know about the bubble as there's plenty of money to be made for everyone 😀
