In addition to the general rules of the Trading Post in the quote below, there are also some service-specific rules depending on what kind of SEO service you're considering offering here.
Chapter 2: General Rules
Section 1: Prohibited Products & Services
Before you submit a listing, you should know that products and services mentioned in the No-Tell Registry are automatically banned from The Trading Post.
Additionally, the following types of products and services are prohibited from The Trading Post:
Product/Service Reason
TrustPilot/Google/Yelp/Other Review Platform Reviews 2024 FTC Ruling banning fake reviews. Any Services You Don't Own You must own the product or service you're listing.
Section 2: Basic Listing Requirements
Section 3: Review Requirements
- All content must be in English.
- Services must be completed; please do not submit half-finished products and services to The Trading Post to get us to beta test them.
- We allow reviews from third-party review sites (i.e., not your own website) and reviews from Office Outlaw.
- Any joint venture partners who are members of this forum must also have Sapphire Status and be mentioned in your listing.
- Related services can be lumped together, but garage listings filled with unrelated services are not permitted.
- Example: Reddit accounts and graphic design services should be separate threads
- You may not create duplicate listings for the same product or service that you offer.
- This includes duplicate listings across any alt accounts you have here.
- You may not copy the listing of another trader.
- Traders may not request IDs or legal documents to fulfil their service.
- Please do not resubmit a listing that has already been rejected.
- This includes listings that were rejected for quality issues.
- You may not use brand names, celebrity names, or other copyrighted or trademarked material in your thread titles or sales copy in a promotional or misleading way.
- Permitted exceptions include neutral, factual use such as “Instagram accounts for sale.”
- This rule exists to reduce the risk of secondary liability under Safe Harbour provisions.
- At no point can listings make claims about staff or Office Outlaw itself.
- Example 1: statements such as being the most trusted, most popular, or best-rated service on the forum are prohibited.
- Example 2: claiming that the service is loved or vouched for by specific staff members.
Section 4: Rules For Customers
- Any downloads must be uploaded to an approved file hosting site and scanned with an approved virus scanner.
- Traders may not request IDs or legal documents from staff.
Section 5: Rules For Managing Listings
- You may leave up to 1 negative review or 1 positive review per listing
- You may not hijack a listing by attempting to sell your own product or service in a listing you do not open.
Section 6: Recommendations For Traders
- You may post a promotional advertisement or a grouped quote response in your listing once every 24 hours.
The following are not strictly rules, but rather recommendations to ensure that you provide the best experience possible to prospects.
Section 7: Listing Bumping
- Check your sales copy against both the light and dark theme.
- Ensure that your sales copy does not have any text that's difficult to read (this includes text that's the same colour as the background)
Our listing bumping rules in The Trading Post are simple:
- After your initial review has been completed, you may post your first response whenever you're ready.
- Every response after should only be posted after 24 hours.
- In your promotional bump, you can use the charge tag to charge credits for others to view content, like a coupon code. You can see an example of it here.
Chapter 4: SEO Services Rules
Section 1: Guest Posting Services
These types of services consist of doing outreach to other websites to get a customer a backlink.
Section 2: Niche Edits
- If you advertise a list of potential guest posting websites, we will need to see the full list during the review process.
- You must provide us with a report, even if you don't normally provide one to customers.
- Do not disguise a private blog network as a guest posting service as your service will be rejected if we see tell-tale signs of a PBN.
Providers of niche edits reach out to other websites to have an aged or existing article on the site edited to include a link to a customer's site.
Section 3: Private Blog Networks
- Injected links are not permitted.
- The article that's edited must be done so in a way we can verify. For example, we must see the article before and after the edit is done.
- We must be able to verify that the article existed prior to the service being delivered (e.g., through web caching services).
- You must provide us with a report, even if you don't normally provide one to customers.
Private blog networks, or PBNs for short, are networks of blogs owned by a single person or company. People who own these blog networks allow customers to buy link placements on their blog network.
Section 4: Third-Party Metric Services
- We thoroughly scrutinise PBNs, especially if you advertise it as "footprint-free".
- You must provide a report on the backlinks you used to the reviewing moderator, even if you don't normally provide a report to customers.
These are service to increase third-party metrics such as domain authority, page authority, or site speed.
Section 5: Web 2.0s
- You must provide a report on the backlinks you used to the reviewing moderator, even if you don't normally provide a report to customers.
These services offer backlinks built using quickly-made blog sites like Wordpress.com.
- We expect Niche-relevant claims to actually be relevant to the niche of the website we send you.
- You must provide a report on the backlinks you used to the reviewing moderator, even if you don't normally provide a report to customers.
