I didn't get it either, just wanted to know if I made a mistake not getting it.

It's better with AI if you're running the model inference locally. For everything else such as Claude Code and the likes, it makes no difference.

But 18 Apple cores is so hot, I think I became a little wet.

My 13in Air is from 2012 and my office Mac mini is 2012. Still going strong I think although I'm replacing both this year. Going for an Air at home and probably a windows machine at work.
