I'm at around 1200 calories per day, trying to lose a bit.
My "maintenance" is around 1600 because I despise leaving my home or of any type of exercise.
At least I like vegetables lol
Some years ago, I had high blood pressure due to being ~50lbs overweight.
As most of you know, sitting 16+ hours per day, every single day, while managing your IM projects, will tack on the weight over time.
So, I took the following daily steps:
- Went to the gym upon wake up.
- Limited caloric intake to 2400 calories per day split between 3 meals and a snack.
- Limited sodium intake to around 2200mg per day (this is one people don't do enough. Sodium holds water, water holds weight).
- Limited sugar intake to 25-35g per day.
- Caffeine was steady around 400-600mg per day depending on coffee.
- Protein intake was around 130g per day. (A good rule of thumb is .5g protein per lb of weight. So, if you're 200lbs, you ingest 100g of protein daily).
- Water intake was around 100 fl oz per day.
I lost those 50lbs in roughly 4 1/2 months.
There's also other strategies like fasting (not a fan as it eats muscle too), large caloric deficit, and high protein/zero fats/sugar intake, and things like ozempic.
Good luck brother.
