So I was using my weed wacker a few weeks ago and I wasn't paying attention to how low it was to the ground. Needless to say, the plastic cover for the wire spool melted against the ground.

This is what's left of it.

The replacement part can be found online for $11 (not including shipping). But look, it's just a piece of plastic... that I can print.

So I looked up the weed wacker on Printables to see if anyone has already made one. I'll be honest, I can make the designs myself, but I prefer not to if someone else already made it. Thankfully in this case, someone else already did!

So I opened the file in my slicer, made a quick adjustment to it so that it could print better. A couple of hours later, it was done.

Yet another reason I'm glad I have 3D printer.

Let us know how it hold up wacking gras and so, if it works good maybe you should order a metal print of it online.

Great idea. That's one of the reasons why I want to get a 3D printer as well. It can save you some money in the long run.

Drawer handles, brackets, things for mounting to walls

Toothbrush holders, tv remote holders, drawer organizers...

Art, picture frames, gadgets, these things are invincible

I'm waiting on a Mars Pro for SLA printing keychains to hook up to a business I've helped build out in the town

Someone I know has just started to print vacuum attachments like real slim ones, slimmer than the types you get in the shops for reaching around car seats etc, as well as doing custom wall mounts to hold the tools as most will hold the cleaner to the wall but there's no rack for the parts.

We ain't exactly best buds so feel free to pinch his idea in any way shape or form.
