This site guide is about refunds and chargebacks for membership and sales listings on Office Outlaw.

Membership & Sales Listing Refunds

1.10 Refunds
You may request a refund for anything purchased on Office Outlaw up to 6 months after the payment has been made. However, be aware that requesting refunds will temporarily bar you for a minimum of 6 months from purchasing membership or sales listings on Office Outlaw. Refunds cost us monetarily in transaction fees and hurt the standing of our merchant accounts. Know that you can still make karma-only purchases for cosmetic badges.

• Refunds can be requested up to 6 months after purchasing membership or a sales listing.
• You will lose whichever membership level you paid for. For sales listings, your listing will be archived and out of public view.
• Your account will be barred for a minimum of 6 months from purchasing membership or sales listings on Office Outlaw as when we issue refunds, it costs us monetarily since we do not get what we pay in transaction fees back and hurts our merchant account credibility. However, you are still allowed to make karma-only purchases for cosmetic badges.

Membership & Listing Chargebacks

1.11 Chargebacks
Chargebacks will result in your account losing its membership levels, including any special usergroups (i.e., Platinum or Founding) you may be in. You will receive a notice on your profile and be permanently barred from purchasing membership or sales listings on Office Outlaw. This does not apply to cosmetic purchases that can only be made with karma.

• Chargebacks are not tolerated. If it's been less than 6 months, please request a refund instead.
• You will lose whichever membership level you chargeback.
• If you hold any special statuses such as Platinum or Founding Membership, your account will be demoted.
• Your account will be permanently barred from purchasing membership or sales listings on Office Outlaw as when we issue refunds, it costs us monetarily since we do not get what we pay in transaction fees back, we're charged $20 per chargeback, and it hurts our merchant account credibility. However, you are still allowed to make karma-only purchases for cosmetic badges.
• You will receive a notice on your profile.

Does the inability and demotions apply to charge backs or refunds done before posting these rules?
In most cases it wouldn't make sense to enforce rules retroactively, but I trust the members here that they should know that refunds and chargebacks would cost some privileges.

Wouldn't make sense but at the same time, I would barred them for 6 months instead of permanently.
