I'll keep this one simple: in the event that someone wants to delete their account, they can use the Contact Us forum below or message an administrator.

This forum is GDPR-compliant, so usernames get changed to "DeletedMemberXXXXX".

Please be aware that when accounts are deleted, this does not delete content (e.g., posts, threads, direct messages). If there's anything personally-identifiable in your content, please message an administrator before requesting an account deletion and ask them for help editing or removing the content.

Step-by-step on how to get YOUR account deleted!

  1. Go through your posting history to find personal-identifiable content ( IRL name, socials etc.),report those post to have them edited out, or DM a moderator with direct links!
Pro tip: You can also use the search option to find those content ( @ThisIsMyTelegram)

  2. Next step would be to Message an admin or use Contact Us and ask for deletion.

@Zwielicht can you verify if it is different for OO? ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Data TypeGDPR-Compliant Retention Period
Account infoAs long as the account exists, or until you request deletion
Posts/commentsOften kept indefinitely unless you delete them or request removal
IP logs / login data6–24 months (depending on security needs)
Inactive accountsCan be retained for a limited time, but should be reviewed regularly
Private messagesUsually kept as long as the account exists, unless you delete them

Nice guide!

The first 3 are for sure as it's all default stuff in Xenforo.

The forth isn't really defined, so I'm unsure.

The fifth one is odd. I'm wondering if this is why Xenforo refers to them as direct messages and not private messages. That would actually explain something I was wondering about for a while. If that is the case, then I'd say it's not applicable.

I know Xenforo did a lot to comply with GDPR, so I'd imagine they didn't miss any of this.

How about previous emails. (for example, i updated to my email, will OO still keep my old email address?)
I also see your PP saying you

What information we hold about you

The type of data that we collect and process includes:
  • Your email address.

Xenforo has a changelog on each profile. When an email changes, you can see the old email and the new one in the changelog.

However, when the account is deleted, that changelog information is also deleted.

If a member pays for something via PayPal, the transaction information is kept for tax purposes, but it doesn’t directly tell you on PayPal that the transaction was for “Member X”.
