Ahrefs Study Finds No Evidence Google Penalises AI Content

A new Ahrefs study of 600,000 pages finds no correlation between AI content and Google rankings, easing concerns about algorithmic penalties.

  • Ahrefs found a near-zero correlation between AI content usage and Google ranking.
  • Over 86% of high-ranking pages contain some level of AI-generated content.
  • Pages with minimal AI content had a weak correlation with higher positions.

Said it before and gonna say it again, use it.

N= 600k is decent for a web sample size.

But it does logically make sense that Google wouldn't penalise Ai content.

As long as the content just solves the users queries it shouldn't matter if it was written by a human or ai.

The way I see it is if I can answer a question in less than 100 words why would I make a 1000 word article for that one question?

I said it before aswell
but people need to understand the principal about AI Detection.
That technology is just as "alpha" as AI itself. With that very said technology advancing every few months with new models, new algos, new formulas, new everything.
How fucking unstable do you really think "AI detection" is.
Unlike AI Detection sites, where they can just say, its a x% chance, but hey, we could be wrong.
Google can't exactly do that, each ranking is playing with lively hoods of business and individuals.
A false detection may end up putting google back in court with even more $$ & time spent.
Not to mention, it isn't just a few differnet models, there also custom & tweaked models out there aswell.
That's all research, manpower and money Google would need to spend to fund it.
Meanwhile, they need to ensure Gemini stays ahead of the competition too.
Making AI doesn't translate to making AI Detection.

Then, the "fragile" state of Search Engine itself could be even on the brink of the collapse, Google wouldn't want to open that pandora box, especially now when there are actual alternatives out there & it isn't early 2000s when every other SE suck balls.

Google is all about making & stealing your money
Some AI articles here or there, benefits them more than it benefits you.
