Hi.

I was looking at better internet options and keep seeing something like AT&T air. It’s 5g internet but it’s way cheaper than other providers.

Anyone used this?

I heard about this.

I think it’s similar to how hotspots work. I’m not sure what the benefit of air internet versus hotspots is.

I see this advertized a lot now usually with cell phone plans.

I don’t know much about it but I guess if it’s cheap and fast enough yeah I’d get it myself.

But I doubt it’s faster than my fiber internet.

I haven't heard about it, is it mobile/SIM Data?

I think it’s SIM data internet but for your home.

From what I saw of it when I looked into it earlier, you can probably move it around wherever though. The device it comes with is pretty small.

If it’s cheaper, I’d give it a try, but I haven’t seen this around here.

My mom has this because she gets a discount for it with her phone plan.

I never tested it when I was over visiting her but it works well enough. I mean I don’t notice a difference between my fiber internet and her internet so I think that’s a good sign.

I have this, actually.

It works pretty well. It's not as fast as when I had fiber optic internet, but it gets the job done for a home network. I can stream 1080p videos at the most, but not 1080p 60FPS videos. Multiple devices are supported easily as well with no issues. You get IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

The only problem I have with it is that it uses mobile IPs are not static, so if you have anything where you need a static IP, then there's nothing you can do about this.

On the bright side, it's actually handy to have this because the mobile IPs don't display your exact location and you get a new IP every 24 hours. It's kind of like always having rotating proxies active all the time, which is useful if you need to avoid detection or get around bans on websites that IP block you for whatever reason.

I hope this helps.
