Man I remember when Black Friday deals at least felt like deals. It feels like companies these days are just marking up the prices beforehand and then putting the old price as the deal price. Na that’s exactly what they’re doing and they’re not even hiding it anymore.

Like at least with IM stuff you can still sometimes find good deals but a lot of these even suck now. What’s even the point of Black Friday anymore other than promotions for overpriced stuff?

Because there are sooooo many resellers, and naturally resellers can't be as competitive as the supplier. Then, suppliers stopped offering over-the-top discounts to not undercut their resellers so deals started to be less attractive.
Add to that the fact that ecom brands realized that losing on the first sale to acquire the client is not really that good because a user you acquire in a sale is a lot harder to retain, making the sale less profitable.

I think in general kept going down hill in the past it used to be pretty incredible such as I got pretty nice black superman long t-shirt for like £2.00

It feels like this for stuff in person for sure. I used to line up outside of stores for those sweet ass deals and now I wouldn't even waste my time doing that. Everything has moved online and if there's something I want that I knew the price of before that goes on sale then I'm going to get that on Black friday.
