When uploading images I sometimes (and I'm sure others, too) get this error:

1000048192.webp

It turns out that there's a built-in feature im XenForo under
acp>setup>options>attachments
That allows for auto image resize, and that by setting to the correct dimension, we can auto resize images upon upload and make sure that (or at least reduce the chances of) users are not forced to go through images resizers before uploading an image to OO.

XF thread:

I think you're getting that because the file size is too big instead of the dimensions of the image. We had to cut down the accepted file size by quite a lot as we don't have a lot of server space right now.

We've bumped the upload limit to 200 kb instead of 100 for the moment, but it's an issue we can only sort out properly when we have a better server.

I meant that by force-resizing images, their weight is also reduces, reducing the number of times this message pops up.

Ah, my bad for misunderstanding.

I've gone ahead and have set the maximum image dimensions based on the suggestions in what you linked to to see if that helps with uploading attachments. Please let me know if it seems too restrictive or too loose.
