Since I do extended travel nowadays (not long term rent + couple days trips twice a year) I'm looking for ways to lower my costs on it... That said, I need highest economy AT LEAST or lowest business (optional, I guess it's ok if price difference is minimal or an upgrade, etc) since I'm not a backpacker and I need checked baggage AND with airline that won't fuckin get all my stuff lost and also I need prority boarding cuz clumsy af. So sadly most cheap travel hacks don't work for me since I'd have to use a crap airline and carry-on only.

I see some people collect RevPoints in Revolut and change that to miles?? For best result you need Metal plan, I think? I thought I can't use that since it'd only count purchases in european stores but I do see some airlines listed... So apparently if I buy AirAsia (😐 but they do have the 'premium flatbed' thing ugh), Etihad, Qatar airlines tickets through Revolut app I get RevPoints that I can change to miles? I see also Trip.com, Skyscanner, Corsica Ferries (heheheh 😅) listed there.

So the question is has any of you used that and would it be actually cheaper to pay for Revolut Metal plan, book flights through Revolut, collect RevPoints and change that to miles (on top of miles that I collect from flights) or am I looking at total lack of savings here like with my Watsons rewards card (I actually prefer to buy in Guardian or just get shampoo and soap at a grocery store 🤦🏻‍♀️ at this point)?

Anyone has any idea if this is actually cheaper? Or other ideas on how to get hotels/serviced apartments and flights cheaper? I'm traveling in Asia, thinking about getting to Georgia (I guess that counts as Europe... Maybe, maybe not 😂) in the future as well but idk what's up with these airlines disruptions nowadays and I'd have to go through arab countries to get there so staying in Asia for now.

Oh, I also have TouchnGo e-wallet opened in Malaysia but verified with foreign/european passport, idk if this helps with cheaper groceries, flights, etc or should I fuck this because loading fee would eat more of my money that I'd save.

?

Saving on travel isn't a thing I know much about, but there's something I heard that people do that's kind of interesting.

There are some people who will save on flights by doing what this lady does in this video.

She goes to the airports and finds pilots and then asks for a lift. I heard of some YouTubers who do this as well. I don't think it would work for international travel, but it might if you're travelling within a country.

I can't directly comment we have looked at the Revolut to switch our business banking to as I'm not getting the help I need from my current bank and they have been bought so...

The point system I looked at its a 1:1 ratio for Points to Miles but its a 2:1 for pound to point ratio for spending to earn the points.

So you would have to spend 2x as much to get the points you need to make it worthwhile, I think you would end up spending more.

If your using for it every day for spending, then it might be worthwhile but using it to game the system, I think those days are gone.

I got a shit ton of Amex points at the better value I think its 1p = 1 point so if your booking 1st / business you can make the points work for you. But I don't think any of the partners British Airways, Virgin and Flyblue? (or the french airline, whatever that's called) works for you anyway?

Hotels. Walk-in rates are often cheaper than those booked unless you walk in on a Friday - Sunday. Booking anything last moment will be cheaper if you are willing to compromise BUT your now entering peak travel time for Europe and that so costs will naturally be higher. I assume travago or similar no use for you as it compares hotel prices..
