So, I thought a thread with ideas of cheap business ideas to get you started making money fairly easy would be a nice thing to have in this category.

Ok, so I start with a very easy one if you are familiar with WordPress.

Start a WordPress maintenance business, it will cost you only $2 per customer to get you going per month and if you charge that client say $25 a month and get 100 customers you will have a profit of $2300 per month for maybe 40 hours of work per month, that is a nice easy business to get started with. Myself I use WP Umbrella as they are both good and cheap to get started with.

To add on to your idea of a maintenance agency:

• Offer white-label services to other agencies to grow a lot quicker.
• Start a referral program for current customers where they get a month free for each customer they refer to you (or really any reward that is good enough)

Quantity and efficiency is key here. You can also upsell hosting services to clients quite easily.

Whatever the idea that you do, it has to start with sales and validation. You have to test your idea and get your first customers before you commit 100% to it. Otherwise you will spend months building something no one wants or needs. Interview your target audience and get to know their top 5 list of problems. They are most likely already solving these problems somehow (if they are priority problems, which they should be) but the solutions are either lacking, expensive or ineffective.

It doesnt have to be 1 hour interviews with 100 people either, just email 20-30 people in your target audience, perhaps 25% will be willing to talk to you for a short 30 minute interview. Then you will notice patterns of problems between these people. And if you dont, you most likely need to narrow your scope, you're not talking to your target audience, you're just talking to an audience.

So many businesses ideas out there that are "easy", yet many miss to validate them. Of course you can use existing businesses doing the same thing as you, take plumbing for example, there's no need to validate that idea. But doing some research before jumping onto the next idea can help you differentiate yourself from competitors and build a brand.

Realistic idea:

Get really good at something or find something you enjoy that people need. It needs to be an ESSENTIAL not a nice to have need. It needs to solve one of three problem areas depending on your target audience (but preferably solve several at once), these are functional problems (I need X feature to do Y), social problems (I want high status in my industry), emotional problems (I want to sleep better at night without anxiety).

So.

Find your target audience, find out about their top 5 problems, find their current solutions, create a better solution, sell them on it, gather user feedback, improve.

If you know HTML CSS & some JS
Since this is just an agency Maintenace website right?
Where conversations either will happen in 3rd party chat apps such as Telegram or via email
You can even save that wordpress $ hosting
& just either grab a free plan from Netlify or Kinsta static until you have that funding to expand to get more bandwidth.
Your sites will actually run so much faster and smoother too.
