Resolved Can we get some stars?

Okay, so just to give everyone a heads up, we're playing around with the various settings for this feature. You might notice things like different types and sizes of stars coming and going from your profile. This is because we're trying out different things and testing the add-on on the desktop and mobile site.

Edit: actually, just to test it, I'll only award it to either myself or admins, that way everyone's profiles across the forum aren't getting affected by this and causing everyone confusion.

Silly me, why didn't I think of doing it this way in the first place? :unsure:

Okay, so that add-on does allow me to award stars. However, it's limited to four stars. I'll look into seeing if I can adjust this, but if not, then four stars will be the limit.

I'll most likely award the first star at 10 trophy points, and figure out where to go from there.

There is also a stacking feature, which I believe means that I might be able to only display four stars, but I could make it so that the oldest gets "pushed off" and replaced with a differently coloured one as users progress. I'm still looking into this, though.

I'm going to remove these temporary stars now because I look like a douche being the only one with stars on my profile, but if anyone wants to share their thoughts on all of this, just let me know in this thread.

Apparently, the stacking feature works like this and not the way I thought it did...

My monitor is large, so it looked like my star had a chastity belt or something. It looks like a little lock icon from far away.

The star feature is live now!

We're starting off with four gold stars you can earn through trophy points.

Over time, I'll look into adjusting how many trophy points each star requires if I can get more to display, but for now, this is how it will be:
  • First star: 10 trophy points
  • Second star: 25 trophy points
  • Third star: 50 trophy points
  • Fourth star: 100 trophy points.
Ideally, if I can get more stars added in and adjusted the icon sizing, I'll stretch it so that users can earn up to 12 stars across 100 trophy points.

Thank you again to @Rem for the add-on suggestion!

Also, because I'm the only one with trophy points right now, I look like even more of a douche for being the only one with a star. Some of you are two trophy points away from getting the first star, and we'll be adding in more trophies today.
 
Okay, I was looking over the page for the add-on when I noticed that I can increase the number of stars from 4 to whatever I want it to be.

I'm going to run some tests to see how this displays, but we can have 8-12 stars.
