This is more of a discussion than a feedback or suggestion, but it's here because I think it's the most appropriate section for it.
I read it a couple of times before I posted it, I know it "reads" like a rant, but it really isn't.

A recent thread about May 1st was moved to the Sapphire section due to it being a political holiday, and although the context @God added to it later did show that it was indeed a political holiday, I don't think anyone thought about that as a political thread up until that point.

When does the line go?

I used to post happy [enter a jewish holiday] threads on a stricter forum and it was never a problem because although most holidays are either political or religious, with time they detach from that and are just traditions we have with friends and family.
Atheists celebrate Christmas, don't they? I know I celebrated Rosh Hashanah even though I couldn't care less about the Jewish calendar. I don't even know the Jewish date today.

My point is that holidays are not religious or political despite their source most likely is.

Where does the line go? Can we have flags as pfp? Can we wish a happy holiday? Can we ask if our fellow Thai members are fine after a tsunami? Can we do the same thing after a missile attack on Kyiv (I know the answer to this one, obviously, I'm just trying to demonstrate a point)?

I understand that a big part of rules is "the spirit" and not what is actually written, but that thread proved that most members didn't understand how we stand on that, and we need to be prepared for tens of thousand of members not understanding where the line goes in a year or so.

Ok
I let you guys had your fun.
As @Octavia suggested.
We need to get back on track.
How should Office Outlaws define what is Religious and what is Political.

We humans, we never agree to everything but we can always compromise and meet half way.

I see it as a place where we all can discuss all things marketing and make some $$ while doing so without having to worry about Race, religion or political believes, so I would preferably keep all politics and religious discussions gone/bare minimum.

Merry Christmas
Happy Diwali
Happy New Year
Eid Mubarak

While religious in nature would still reach a certain % of the forum, while keeping is really low *(4 posts per year)
I see this as a pretty good compromise on both sides of the spectrum.

But?
I thought ALL political & Religious was ALLOWED on OO?
what changed?

I dont see an issue, if its political or religious, just post it in the right section.....
idk why you all are overcomplicating something so simple.

Next level reply I'm not sure if it's me or @Rem is the idiot or us both.
I always say when in doubt choose Rem.

Well never said that, but let's make it happen?

You are not wrong there

Religious and Political Discussions: Prohibited outside of designated areas due to their sensitive nature

I suppose those areas are non-index areas?

Correct.
They are hidden.

or we can either just have a staff/mod post a "Happy x day" everyday from my list in sapphire section? and all that "happy x day" are only allowed in that said thread.
or just dont have those days posted but other political religious talks in the correct section allowed?

That's a full time job right there..
Shot not it.

So "Only allow discussion threads on Political/Religious" talks but not celebrating the Holiday thread?
This can be considered if other members are good on it too
