I had a crypto debit card back in 2016 and that thing died on me constantly and put me in odd situations because I was overseas in countries where people didn't speak much English and my card payments didn't go through and there was constant headache with that thing.
Yeah, that's my concern.
It was called Xapo if I remember correctly.
Thanks for sharing. Good to know crappy ones to avoid.
Technology has obviously evolved in the past 9 years but I will not go back to this bullshit anymore.
Yeah.
You can have crypto in the Revolut app and cash it to fiat whenever you need it and use Revolut debit cards to pay.
I have Revolut. It tries to do extra kyc when I click on crypto thing, though, not sure what they want lol.
What you can do is register a Revolut account, ID-verify yourself and send the card to one of your relatives address in Poland and let them to send it to you in Sri Lanka
No no no. If I had family that's not complete thieves and scammers I wouldn't be in the hard situation I'm in right now

. Most of my family is dead anyway, but no way in hell I'm sending this to some far cousins, for all I know they'll rip me too, just like close family did

. Just no. I did find some forwarding service.
(or check maybe they do deliver them to Sri Lanka too if you have a Polish citizenship)
I have Wise and Revolut like every good nomad. Revolut did send to Sri Lanka even though I use my old Poland address as my residence because Sri Lanka is unsupported country. It does send card to you, it treats this like you're on vacation or smth. That's actually really good thing about Revolut, from what I hear Wise doesn't send card abroad, maybe replacements if someone stole your current one, but first time you need to order to your home country (which I did and Revolut later to Sri Lanka).
I have used my Revolut for 5-6 years and have had almost no issues with it (I have business and regular both, works with Stripe too).
I know about and use Revolut (not sure about crypto part). The thing is I need something more than these two because technically they can close my accounts any time, I'm not resident there anymore. I know nomads use these with old addresses like I do, for years, but it is a problem because let's say I'd try to transfer my money from apartment sale from polish bank account to these... I can't really do that. Wise actually penalizes you for holding too much balance. Revolut... Let's say they'll want to kyc this transaction. I'll show notarized apartment sale contract. But it's the same address like I have as residential address in my Revolut! Sri Lanka is unsupported country. So I'm thinking that technically I'd pass kyc but they'd close my account

. I just want to move out of Poland... Everything I own, everything... I already sold my apartment, moved myself out, my things arrived a bit later. I want to move my money out of the country and eventually stop servicing polish clients if I have to avoid being taxed there. I don't want anything to do with this place.
I do have Revolut and Wise since I need that for currency exchange. I managed to open some bank account in Poland through app (it's possible in some banks since covid) but it has transactions limits that can be lifted only if I come back to Poland for rl kyc. Honestly, to me Wise/Revolut are good to keep some money in and for currency exchange. It's not suitable as main account, though. Polish bank accounts make no sense since I don't live there anymore, why would I want to be at the mercy of our unstable government and tax authorities that can block the account and seize funds any time they decide they want to loot someone because they need money for their 800+ social program for people with kids or to give to ukrainians?
I looked into offshore bank accounts but THAT is some major drama... That's a topic in itself, lol. Very unstable. High minimum balances. I don't have enough money for that. I mean, if they counted min balance in polish zloty then I'd have

, but not that much in dollars, 4 times more than I have

. Fuckkk, I just want to move my money out of this shithole. I don't want to go back there. I wanted to leave in, like, 2009? But they didn't let me. No way in hell I'm crossing polish border again. I'm looking at what options I have (might be multiple things used together, so looking at everything).
