Black Hat SEO Do page rankings matter for AI snippets?

I heard people are trying to get their pages mentioned in those AI snippets on Google these days.

One thing I was wondering is if your position in the SERPs matters for getting mentioned in the AI snippets.

I'm still reading about them but I've not come across any solid info on whether or not rankings matters for this.

I've not seen anything conclusive on this but I'd imagine it does play some role. They're not gonna use some #200 ranking site for their AI snippets lol.

Anywhere in top 10 INCLUDING people also ask (where you might list for PAA but not featured in the 1-10 pos) will get you in the AI snippet.

Least that's from my experienced and what I'm seeing!

I’ve seen AI snippets from websites ranking at the bottom of page 1. In a perfect world I would think that position 1-3 would occupy the Ai snippet. But Ai is far from perfect.

Plus now the Ai snippet is just scraped data and rewritten without any attribution in much of what I’ve seen in the last months. Just like what we used to do with WordAi and parasites back in the day

AI is just an extension of SERP!

Whatever that gets any page qualified to be featured in AI snippets would also make it rank in the top 10.

That's how it is for now, and I doubt pages ranking in page 2 would be featured in AI snippets in the future.
