Something happened to me over the weekend to prompt this question.

Went for a hike with a few friends. We were close to a river spring on the map, that's i'd have really liked to see. Weather was particualrly bad so my friends decided to stay in tent they set up but when it stopped raining I said i'm going to go for a little walk (and see if I could find this spring. When I was close I found the spring was completely enclosed by an Enourous encloure of single file Evergreen trees. It was a stark contrast to the wastelands and dying roughage all immediately all around it, but to the front was a small but well kept wooden gate and fencing. It was obviously a spot of land that was well looked after by someone. I decided to enter through the gate area and was suddenly felt like i'd entered a sifferent world.

The sounds of incessant speeding vehicles from the motorway nearby as well as the jackhammering on construction further up I could here just a few feet away had conpletely subsided, and there was nothing but total silence, not a single soul, not even any birds could be heard or seen and the air suddenly felt very dense and the trees appeared almost conpletely still. Compared to the area outside the gates I had just entered through. As I walked a little further ahead And I could see ahead of me a wooden bridge, it was old but very well kept, but on either side I could see figurines and offerings and realised it was some kond of pagan worship ground.

As I approached the bridge I could begin to hear a faint trickle of water up ahead on the other side of it. That's when I heard a faint voice whisper through the evergreen forage - 'you should turn around'. I did freak out I turned and found nobody and nothing in site but it felt as it had been watching me all along. I hurridly walk out of the gates and up a hill overlooking it scratching my head. And then a man walking his dog came to greet me. Friendly countryside type. I stopped to have a quick chat with him. He told me a little about the area he said the area (which happened to be just outside the enclosed parameter I entered) was where people dying of a tb epidemic back in the victorian era were told to lay and basically die. I then turned my attenrion towards the area I had just come through. I asked what is through those gates. He paused before saying 'i'm not really sure actually. We were told to stay away from it as their are bogs further up that people might get trapped in'. He seemed in a hurry to change the subject about it. I went on my way but before I did I could see him now oging out of his way to take a closer look himself around the area, did I peak his curiosity or was he assesing something?

All very strange. I definitely heard the whisper, it felt like advice rather than a threat but still don't know whether it's to warn me about some bogs up ahead possibly ine of the hundreds thst had died in that very hill, or because I had come across some pagan ritual ground I wasn't supposed to be in!

Na, not more than the ghosts in my head, but then again I heard they have great pills for that nowadays.

No.

Cool story, though.
