Just being curious. How many of OO members have a 9-5 job? And how many of you quit your 9-5 to chase your own thing and did not regret it later?

I run my own business

It's always been freelancing : )

Yaaay, I'm not alone 😅. Thought 9 to 5ers would fuckin eat me last time 😭
Honestly I enjoyed almost every job I had before starting my own thing. I got to learn a lot and manage budgets that back then felt unimaginable.

That's cool! Sounds like you had good employers available.

I do 2 jobs at the age of 18 and also handle my own little business. Doing this not because of financial issues, just want to set my future early so i can marry early :sneaky:

I'm roughly 5am - 8pm with mixed time between.

I do work where I reach out to other people strictly 8-5.

Other time is just me growing and developing. If I don't put the time in somone else will (competitor)

I'm constantly developing new ideas and projects so it's not something I can just hand off.

I have one problem...
And it's a solution at the same time! WoW!

This problem makes me feel the bullshit of 9-5 intensely. :alien:
But as a solution it gives me profit.

Double edged sword led me to working a 9-5 for 1 year in total. :ROFLMAO:
The rest I did jobs on the internet couple days a month. 🤭

My life mission is to build an empire without anyone's help other than my own creative skills. 🤩

I started as freelance
Then passed working with shifts at hospital + freelance
Then went 9 to 5 programming
After that 9 to 5. + freelancer
Now full freelance again

I used to for quite a while, but it was awful. The workplace was toxic and everyone was manipulative and stabbed each other in the back regularly. The only way for me to stay there was to not ruffle feathers, and I could only do that by letting them talk down to me and treat me like I was stupid. I felt like a shell of myself and it made me more miserable than anything else I've been through.

The more I tried to have a backbone or stand up for myself, the more troubles I started to have and the more I was expected to essentially prostrate myself and kiss their asses. But, after a point, I just couldn't bring myself to do it anymore. Once I hit that point, they found me too 'problematic'. So I was let go unceremoniously.

Now I don't work the 9-5 and I make sure to keep things that way. Working for yourself has it's own challenges and you can still get clients that try to treat you like shit, but I can just tell them to fuck off (in the professional way) and not deal with them. I would take that over a 9-5 any day.

I will soon-ish be 40, I am not from a privileged background and I never had a 9 to 5 in my life. And I am completely scared shitless that there might be a time in the future where I will have to look for a job.

Sends shivers down my asshole man.

Just go for minimal wage and with adventure mindset. No fear!
