Sometimes I’ve thought about buying nice pieces of art like sculptures to put around my house. I feel art fairs near me sometimes and just thought to myself that hey, that wouldn’t look bad in the living room.

Do any of you own any of art pieces even ones you’ve made yourself? I’d you do them has it made a difference in terms of ambience in your home? Maybe share a picture or two if you don’t mind.

At home we do have Lord shree krishna wall art but as a collector not a big fan really as I see it as a rich people thing

I know @Zwielicht and @Impulse got some

I myself have very few. I have one by Ehud Amir, a family friend that passed away and a couple by my aunt.

I don't own any, but I'd like to have some in the future.

I got some common artwork book prints of Agatha Christie death on the nile and murder on orient express in our green room / library room because the wife is a fan, its modern, not exactly art but its on the wall it looks alright, gives a nice modern feel to the room and the colours work with the scheme of decor we have.

Was just a little Christmas gift one year

Don't really do art although I am a Paul Cézanne fan and that's way outside my price bracket.

We do own a large ammonite, which is about 30x30cm cost a bit but the wife likes that. I don't mind it either.

I been slowly building up a first edition book collection for her as well again all Agatha Christie.

I think my Swatch piece is art

My BC Rich Warlock is art to be true

My Labrador... And I've 3D printed a few cool pieces for decoration around the house

What's that saying something is in the eye of the beholder or that

Man don't know bout all dat

Got 3 paintings that I got like 5-7 years ago from an auction site. They were not expensive like 100-300 range, however I thought that maybe in 15 or so years they would be worth a lot more. Most probably they won't as the same author pushes out paintings like there's no tomorrow :)

My life is art. Huge piece, really. I paint many images a day.

I like this metaphorical way of thinking.

You may think, this RiskyStuff is mad!
And you'd be right. I have schizophrenia papers and living my life correctly is like producing art - quite challenging. ;)

Imagine your brain sees everything like art and it's just... awesome, but so exhausting because every thought weighs 20 times more than in normal population.

Back to topic, lol! How could I answer topic directly? I can't.

Look, the best form of art is body art, makeup art and photography. I have plenty on my computer. I like body modification. Enough info for you.

I don't expect business people on this forum having this big idea of art... that it's literally in everything we create... but that's what art really is - it's just creation, more or less beautiful, it's always some form of expression of ourselves.

"Good code is like art" - try to write code like poems. Create framework in your mind for artistic coding. It may turn your dopamine rush of coding with Claude into serotonin and journey full of appreciation.

Correct answer.

Piece of art can be anything.

But people will turn it into "it costs money, it's from famous painter, it's what art is"... Far from truth.

Removing art from daily life is as if one removed beauty, passion and soul. That is definition of hell!

Do Japanese kitchen knives count?

Favorites are definitely:

I have to order them from Australia as these more obscure pieces will never get to shops in the EU.

Pics are welcome.

Oh I have a story about a custom knife! I ordered one from Pig Iron Forge from the US https://pigironforge.com/

Beautiful knife, nice guy really, great to work with. After 3 months of waiting, my knife is finally shipped. Courier arrives, I pay the VAT and tax and whatnot, go back to my apartment, open package aaand it's empty. :)))

Some cunt somewhere along the way very much stole the knife. No idea whether here in EU or in US, but it took me a year to get over the shit. I was very pissed.
