I always see celebrities with really white teeth and I’ve thought about trying to get my teeth that white too. It just looks so nice.

I heard that it can make your teeth really sensitive though. Does anyone here have experience whitening their teeth at home?

I tried that once at a mall that had a kiosk for teeth whitening. I sat in a chair for one hour for $99 and they put some light over my teeth.

I didn’t notice that much of a difference so it’s not something I’m interested in trying again.

Tbh I booked a dentist consultation in Kuala Lumpur, if I come to the conclusion they aren't scammers and they do everything else I might get whitening too, idk. Actually they used to be super white when I was using mint powder instead of toothpaste, maybe I should switch to tooth powders again. I see there's huge difference depending on products you use, for some reason whitening toothpaste was the worst (as in, darker shade than just using a tooth powder 😂). If anyone can say if teeth get very sensitive after this or it's an non-issue? Supposedly something like this done at the dentist lasts couple months? My teeth aren't that dark but I thought I might as well check this out eh, very easy access to stuff like that there.

We need our fashionista and beauty guru @Zwielicht here
So, I have been summoned! 😁

@29dogs, I mainly use whitening strips, but not the Crest whitening strips these days as they're very expensive for what they are. If you want to try whitening strips, look for ones based on their hydrogen peroxide content; avoid any that use carbamide peroxide unless you're explicitly looking for that. Some manufactures will advertise whitening strips with as much as 44% carbamide peroxide, but carbamide peroxide is not as effective or as fast-acting as hydrogen peroxide when it comes to whitening In other words, only get carbamide peroxide if you want a gentler experience with less sensitivity and don't mind wearing the trays for hours at a time.

If you want fast results and can tolerate the sensitivity that comes after, then look for 10% hydrogen peroxide whitening strips. This is the equivalent to what's in the Crest Express whitening strips, but you can find other manufactures who sell them much cheap. Think of it like a brand name versus generic type of situation.

I've tried the whitening toothpastes, but I noticed no difference after using these for a month and going through a whole tube. However, there is actually one toothpaste I know of that does make a difference. Crest sells this "3D White Brilliance 2 Step Kit" where you brush your teeth with a "deep clean" toothpaste for 1 minute and then brush your teeth with a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel for another minute immediately after. This one actually has made a difference, but in my opinion, it seems like it's far better for maintaining white teeth.

I heard that it can make your teeth really sensitive though.
The sensitivity isn't permanent and lasts about 24-48 hours for me usually. It isn't pleasant, but as long as you don't accidentally leave the strips on and go to sleep, it won't be that bad. Although, everyone has a different tolerance for this.

It's hard to get really white teeth unless you're using a higher percentage of hydrogen peroxide, at least for me. If you have a tray, you can find tubes of hydrogen peroxide way above the usual maximum of 10% on ebay.

Some celebrities who have really white teeth may have veneers in, so that's also something to keep in mind when it comes to expectations.

@Zwielicht what about in clinic whitening? do you have any feedback on that?

I mean, you go to a dentist and he does the treatment for you, I guess it's 1 or 2 sessions.

I actually am one of the many few people who brushes my teeth twice a day and floss regularly

I’ve never done in-clinic whitening, but from what I know about it from others, they usually just use a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide gel and an LED lamp in the office. Some dental offices give you trays and the gel to use at home, though.

Ok so what I get from this is the whitening toothpastes suck and that I need to choose the products carefully or go to a dentist to get it done by them.

This stuff seems really complicated lol. I think I’ll try strips first because I want to do something at home and then try the dentist after.

Thank you everyone who responded! If anyone else has more experiences I would really like to hear them.

I love my teeth, while doing whitening it's grips get weak. I tried once so dentist told me don't do that it's harmful for teeth but still i want to do that.. so i tried tooth paste whitening one but nothing get success and left it then i remember dentist words, he is really experienced person who already told me don't do anything. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: May be he already tried.

I use on my ferrets teeth 24 carrot gold toothpaste I find it makes their teeth whiter make sure when you bushing your ferret keep the ferret relaxed during it.

A brand you may like for it Janina Ultra White.

No because I'm living alone, so I don't care about my teeth, similiar to my liver, heart etc.

Isolation and lack of genuine relationships does something to your attitude over time. I heard that shit is like smoking or worse!

I’ve done that before. That shit hurts like hell. Tooth pain is probably the most annoying pain to deal with.
For this type of emergency there's a mix of codeine and acetaminophen.
