šŸ§›ā€ā™‚ļøCo-Workers Ever made special requests at work?

Not those kind of special requests.

I’m talking better mice, more comfortable chairs, that kind of thing.

If you did how did it go?
yes, i asked for better mouse and keyboard & chair
like idk a few weeks ago, it was a survey asking bout our office equipment and what not
so.. still dunno the outcome maybe ignored if majority are happy i guess

I used to work for a place that handed standing desks to everyone. I asked for a normal desk because if I wanted to stand when I work, I would have chosen a profession other than marketing.

Lol, what I do is I walk 4 hours and think all the time.
Then I spend 4 hours in bed and think all the time.
Then I spend 4 hours sitting and think all the time.

Then I find 4 hours a week to "work". I wouldn't call it work, but engineering all the pieces and painting images on canvas.

Everyone has their own vision of "marketing". It's so flexible.

Yes, please fire me because you've shown me all the data, so I can do it on less restrictive terms from now - freelance, build a small operation...

One company showed me all their ad accounts and stuff like that on 1st day. 3 days later I was fired.
I was disgusted by their practices and how their workers did literally everything, meanwhile managers were laughing in your face.

Another one wasn't very open about their setup. It was harder to figure out. Their camouflage was a lot stronger. Their whole operation was like one big lie covered as "medicine". Bullshit, there was as much medicine in it as in some herbs you find in a garden.

As you can guess, my idea of what marketing is wasn't very entertaining for me. They create bad name for marketing and business.

Yeah some places actually not only allow this but also encourage it.

The most I ever asked for was a new keyboard.

They won't let you go overboard by getting top of the line fully featured futuristic equipment but if you work for a good place then they'll get you some decent stuff.

Just don't try keeping any of it by taking it home like an idiot coworker of mine tried.

If they're working in the office, the company will naturally provide company-owned property. But I believe employees should supply their own equipment if they're working from home.

For the office, if anyone working under me made special requests like this, I would have to bring it up in their next performance review. Making special requests like this just feels like an insult that says "Hey, what you supplied isn't good enough!" It's almost like saying the company isn't good enough for them and that kind of negativity has no room in the workplace. :)

A type of hard manager. I prefer flexibility. But it probably doesn't fit well into 9-5, so no issue.

Calling $20 headphones with mic "property" doesn't sound like a company I would like to work for anyways.

$2. $20. It doesn't matter if it's 1p because it's all property of the company and representative of the company itself, as the employees are meant to be.

Yes I am a very hard manager. Being a hard manager is necessary for a successful workplace. :)

I mean... I quarrell with my clients all the time, reminding them that I'm not their employee. Does that count as special requests at work? šŸ˜‚

My job asks employees if there’s anything we need in terms of equipment. I make requests sometimes but if it’s routinely done is it considered a special request?

I wouldn’t say so.
