This is the forum suggestions section. It's in this section that members can suggest new features, add-ons, or even improvement ideas they have for our forum.

Unlike other sections of the site, you'll notice that threads in this section have a slightly different format. This is because these threads allow users to vote on ideas, a feature we'll go over more in a moment.

The Voting System
If you haven't noticed, the Forum Suggestions section has a voting system in place.

This is meant for other members to be able to vote on suggestions made here. At the moment, we require a minimum of 7 votes for a suggestion to be considered.

It's important to note that the votes are usually just taken into account where there's a suggestion that's not as obvious as to whether or not we implement it. For example, if a suggestion is on whether or not we should add a social media, something that's a very part of internet marketing, then we'd just simply add this in. However, if someone suggests changing the the way something is displayed on the site because they believe it would look better, we'd leave this up to the community and take the vote system into consideration.

At some point, we will look into a way for users to also disable the voting feature in their own threads as this is possible, but it requires us to make some changes on our end.

Why Some Threads Remain Under Consideration
Ideally, we want to ensure suggestions are either implemented or declined in a timely manner. However, there are some times where a suggestion will remain under consideration for a longer period of time. The reasons for this are as follows:
  • Not enough votes: As of May 14, 2025, we're expecting suggestions to get a minimum of 12 votes before we'll implement them. Just to make it clear, The number of votes required is based on the number of registered accounts, so 1/20th of the registered accounts that we have.
  • We're waiting on something else: For example, there was a suggestion for a tagline for our upcoming logo. Before we can add a tagline, we need to actually have the finished logo first.
  • Complexity: There are some cases where something is a little complex to add in. This was the case for displaying the number of reactions in thread lists; this was surprisingly more time-consuming than you would think as it's not a built-in feature, meaning we had to code it ourselves.
  • Too expensive: Literally, if an add-on costs a lot of money, we might have to hold off on implementing it. We use the money we receive from donations to implement these ideas (at least. in these early stages), so if we don't have enough, then we wait until we do before purchasing something.
Locked Threads
As of January 6, 2026, we now lock threads in this section after two weeks. We made the decision to start doing this because if there are any old suggestions that anyone wants to revisit, we'd rather a new thread get started on the suggestion with fresh votes from the community rather than have the old thread bumped. Two weeks gives everyone plenty of time to vote and gives question threads time to be discussed. We also don't want anyone to feel shut down by locking threads immediately.

This is in the opening post as well.

I've reduced the number of votes down from 10 to 8. Maybe 10 is a little high for where we're at, and not everybody who uses the forum votes.

Probably made @t2van 's day

Nah. Close.

Needs to be 5 now.
I won't do 5 but I'll compromise here. How about we try 7 out? I'll lower it if necessary, but you don't want to go too low, too quick.

Do we need 8 upvotes to approve the result of the negotiations?

I don't know, let's get all bureaucratic up in here and vote on it. :ROFLMAO:

You came that low. Might as well be 6.

8 is good but the forum isn't that active
It's 7 right now, not 8.

We'll try 7 first. Something about the voting system is that you can't see who voted or how many people voted. For all you know, there are suggestions that are getting votes, but people are split on them and it stays are 1 or 2. In fact, I have seen that happen with suggestions that were at 7 and shot down to 3 later on.
