There’s an article about it here. https://www.engadget.com/2195464/its-time-to-dump-roku/

Personally I use Roku but I’m thinking of switching. It’s become littered with ads the last year or two and I’m just fed up with it. I can’t imagine Fox is going to make it better. If anything it’ll be worse. These big players don’t shell out money for this stuff and not think about how to milk it.

Big SIGH

Money splashed out for the user info.

Ads are secondary.

to prove a point probably (which I'm fully onboard with tbh)
But it wasn't even established that the service is going to be changed. What's the point that's being proven?

some kind of warning to Roku managers that happen to monitor online reputation that members are disgruntled with the direction the company is heading.

Also, another point I can think of is rallying other disgruntled members to go along with the decision of ditching Roku, which - again - if the Roku advertising officials see this type of feedback they might change their minds to NOT implement the new policies...

Stuff like this...

Yeah, except this is not a warning, this is execution. It makes sense to post about intention of leaving them if they go ahead and do A, B, or C, but leaving them without any context is very unlikely to get anything productive. They won't even know why you left.

Why ditch anything before it gotten worse?
because they are haters
they see a company
and they get all horny over hating it
