Linux French government says it's ditching Windows for Linux

Why can't someone just make a better OS that isn't Windows iOS or Linux? Something new? Come on already.

They ain`t ditching it for quality, it is a political statement to start eing less dependent on America First fckup.

I am pretty sure developing an OS from scratch takes a ton of time, resources, and a team. Maybe someone is already working on building something but just hasn't released it yet.

Well, in the past of course, but with AI, you can create a system by yourself. You won't be able to play games though. :( To browse internet? No way too... Maximum you can make solo is something like an old console.

Well, I certainly won't be volunteering to reverse engineer and port drivers for this new OS cause the hardware specs are all closed spec and we don't have seven or eight 8 figures to reach a deal with manufacturers. Let's put it that way 😅
