Earlier in July, Google released the Veo 3 video model globally in Gemini. The latest addition is that Gemini can turn images into eight-second video clips – with audio.
Instead of just automatically bringing the image to life, the photograph is used as the basis for the user's instructions: you decide what happens. The videos have both a visible watermark and an invisible stamp through Synth ID, to indicate that the videos are AI-generated.
The feature requires Google AI Pro or Ultra. Google writes that the news has been released in "select countries" without listing which ones.
To turn your photos into videos, select 'Videos' from the tool menu in the prompt box and upload a photo. Then, describe the scene and any audio instructions, and watch as your still image transforms into a dynamic video.
