BBC again sorry: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq571g9gd4lo

Just seen that now.

I first read it like the article was a complaint by the worker for earning $2 vs the model they pretending to be earning millions.

While I do get that sucks I think the $320 a month the worker earns in min wage in the Philippines and most jobs you often end up working for an employer or company that earns much more than your worth and that old argument of never being paid enough.

It then lifted some light "behind the scenes" workings that goes on and the risk of anti pawn laws in the country.

Personally I thought it was a good quick read and insightful (to a degree) but it certainly came off as the type of shit the BBC in my opinion is known for publishing these days.

Yeahhh I actually know sri lankan 'model' (she's on Fansly and I think Chaturbate? Not Onlyfans) and she earns less than me freelancing and actually works more.

Doing the same thing as the person in the article?

The person you know are they working 7 days - that was one thing I dont think was clear in the article I assumed it's 5 but I suspect its probably a 7 day a week thing and assume time difference its probably anti-social hours if in chats or however it works?

She basically has full workdays... Plus weird hours, sleeps during the day, tired all the time, complains everything hurts her all the time... It's seriously disturbing. Especially since this is promoted as easy money and not working (chicks think money will just roll in like that for them playing whole day). Very sad, uhm, profession but in that specific case it was her fault as well because she wanted 'easy money'. Me... I complain a lot but I have way more free time than her, easier work, can try other projects in between. She has her days full and is NOT rich.

Most agencies give a base fee $1 - $2 + up to 10% commission on all sales made.
Models themselves get up to 40%.

The remainder goes to agency, for marketing, overhead and salary.

Sometimes traffic generators also get a high commission like 30% if the agency is outsourcing that.
