Is a fast internet speed necessary for IM success?

I’m thinking about getting faster internet because my current speed is about 100MPBS. I was thinking that a faster internet speed might help as there are large files and programs for tools I have to download sometimes.

I mean the new internet would save time but do you think that faster internet speeds have any kind of effect on success in this industry?

Na, 100Mbps is enough.

No, not really. At the peak of my "IM" career, I was pulling in 6 figures a month off a 1mb satellite connection in rural Russia. A second monitor is probably the most efficient upgrade I could recommend. If the type of work you are doing is heavily tied in to your download speeds then get a dedicated (or virtual) server you can remote into and do the work there, many options out there for 10Gbps+ speeds.

Not necessary at all.
If it supports a video zoom meetings, you can work with it.

No.

I have noticed if you have an older machine browsers seem to feel like they "restrict" the speed a little to make it look like hardware issues. So id probably say if anything invest in hardware but that's not necessary either my MacBook im responding to now is from 2012...

I don't have a webcam still

Most people wouldn't categorize what you do as IM though.

I tried to create a benchmark where if you can do X than you don't need faster internet rather than saying OP's gotta do zoom calls.

Hard to put a finger of each member's requirement because everybody thinks (or defines) IM differently.
I, for example, work with clients and freelancers, so I really need the zoom calls. You don't, but you meet your team F2F every day.
I don't meet clients outsize Zoom even if their office is very close to me.
But if someone else doesn't do meetings at all, I'd still advise yo have a connection that can handle it.

None of my customer service team know what I look like lol

I also have 8-12 zoom / team whatever type meetings weekly with various companies and they all do the same thing "oh I can't see you"

Like it's expected. My work machine is just a mini with a 27inch monitor no built in camera.

It's something ill change but for now It's fine still a bit of a "taboo" and everyones reactions are almost the same when you dont have a camera not that I give a shit but thats why I laughed at the camera reply because I've not gone into any meeting ever where the other person has no camera or the camera is "off"

It depends if you do methods, stream from your computer and how many people you share your connection with.

It's more about being able to rent or have many cores, proxies with stable connection if you make many accounts.

Usually the limiting factor is something else than internet, but if you have limited data plan, you'll need a VPS to rent and use that if you do anything involving many actions. Actions == money.

I can do on 20 Mbps.

Yeah, 300 hours a month of work?! That definitely doesn't classify as IM. IM is semi-automated for many.
