Sorry @t0mmy I blamed you for no reason lol
I was looking into it more, and I think what was happening was every time someone even looked at an attachment, the system treated it like a download.

As images are uploaded and attached as an attachment is that also a factor?

You should've lost karma for the last one you uploaded, whether or not it's in the rebalancing.

Have a pint of water and go eat more salty fish

I've worked on this a little more, so all of the exploitable events should be fixed now.

I've also made a few more adjustments in how much karma is gained. An easy way to remember it is like this: things you do generate 10 karma, things others do to you generates 20 karma, and "major events" that happen generate 30 karma.

The site guide has been updated to reflect all of this as well.

So posting a thread is 10 karma, getting a follower is 20 karma, and getting a star is 30 karma.

To replace the attachment download, I've added another karma sink when it comes to donating karma. Donating karma is now taxed at 5%. I've decided to add this in just so someone doesn't karma farm on another's behalf, or worse, for their alts.

How does tax work

Is it the sender or receiver

Also if im giving karma taxing it seems to defeat sending it? more so if there is no "real" value to it?

The sender gets taxed. So if I send 100 karma to @Impulse, she gets 100 karma but it deducts 105 karma from my balance.

I don't think it defeats the purpose as it's not stopping anyone from sending karma to members they appreciate or want to help out. At most, it might cause some hesitation, but it's why I kept the tax low.

Most aren't sending more than 1,000 karma anyway, and sending even that amount would only cost the sender 1,050 karma.

What if instead of Karma you make "Office Outlaw Coin" and we all send it to valhalla :D

What if you send 19 karma? Is it rounded down or up?

up it seems
Yeah. Was just about to post that.

Either it's up or there's a minimum of 1, sending 10 also taxed me 1.

yeah it won't let you send 9 or less to give a balance of 0 despite no tax tho... refuses to do it
I just did, sent you 3 and then 9 and you earned what I spent
