Link Exchange

I’m working on growing the authority and reach of my pet blog, and I’m looking to connect with other bloggers in the same niche.

One of the ways I’m planning to do this is through collaborations like link exchanges, guest posts, or other mutually beneficial partnerships.

Link exchanges are an easy footprint to detect. Some do it still, but it's really hard to do it effectively and you got to know what you're doing.

How come? DesignRush basically does a sort of link exchange when they ask you for link on your homepage and they link to you from their directory and they seem to do fine? They also ask for links in blog posts and link to you from more of their pages. Not trolling you, just wondering.

This is more of a PR thing IMHO, knowing that no one will click on a aggregator they don't recognize unless they're another agency.

I'm not saying the link exchange can harm the parties, just that it's probably not that effective.

I was never asked for links from blogposts, but I did put them on my home page. I'm considering lowering their link to the bottom of the homepage because it really isn't that important to me.
