Luigi Mangione is the man accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan in December 2024. The killing drew nationwide attention because Thompson was a high-profile health insurance executive.

A federal judge has ruled that prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty against Mangione because the federal murder charge used to justify capital punishment was found legally flawed under current law.

Not sure about my views about death penalty. One side is simple, you kill - you get killed. On the other side, spending life in prison is very likely a worse punishment.
Also, beyond a shadow of a doubt is a high standard of proof, but it's never 100%.

They were only trying to give him the death penalty because he shot one bitch CEO.

Still don’t think him rotting in prison is much better but it’s insane that they were even trying this in the first place.
