Every step you take generates electricity: How Japan’s innovative technology is turning walkers into power sources

this-japanese-technology-converts-everyday-walking-into-usable-electrical-energy.jpg

Japan is harnessing the power of footsteps through piezoelectric technology, turning everyday walking into usable electrical energy. Installed in busy areas such as Shibuya Station, this innovation helps power low-energy devices and demonstrates a practical approach to renewable energy generation in urban spaces. Although each step produces only a small amount of electricity, the overall impact can be meaningful in crowded public areas.

Looks like an expensive way of generating energy.

I mean they have tons of pedestrians so kinda makes sense to implement this nevertheless

its not worth it.

2 watt per step..

You need millions of steps for it to be meaningful,

So cost outweighs the electricity generated.

Potato batteries would probably generate more at a cheaper cost tbh.

Weird, outside the box thinking. My type of stuff. :giggle:

But if you create this at home... who knows what the future will bring. :giggle:

For now it's a cool idea, bad execution.

My favorite energy hack is buying a macbook and iphone. And of course automation and outsourcing, so I don't have to do clicks by myself.
