I use one of those basic computer chairs. You know the type, the cheap ones with a small back and a cushion on wheels.

I want to upgrade to a nicer one. Maybe something that feels more comfortable to sit in. Any recommendations?

I'll be honest - I use dining room chair, just took it upstairs to the office and it stayed there 😂

@Impulse and I bought reclining gaming chairs years ago that look like these. I think it was about 3 years ago that we got them. They've held up well this whole time.

They look like this:

I always find doesn't matter what you spend eventually the gas goes or a leaver does or something..

I used to have a really nice brown office chair but a few years ago I got the simple office chairs like this at auction

Everyone has switched from a swivel to one of them. Think it helps they are a few years old so the cushions got broken in already they are very comfortable and offer a good amount of support they are cheap in liquidation auctions also

as someone with back problems (because of spending too much time at the computer) I'm drooling at this image :)

But I'm curious, how many $1000s was this chair? Because it doesn't seem affordable...

You can get something like Ikea Marcus.

I don't feel comfort on these cheap chairs... billions of people agree with me.

Get something that feels like a good mattress.

I sit up to 18 hours per session, so I have big issues with upper back muscle soreness and require good chair.

Also resting chairs are good for fun. Like recliners.

They get used everywhere it's commercial office seating.

Not exactly “ikea“ 😂

Your getting upper back issues as that type of chair doesn't offer enough lumbar support which is a cause of neck stiffness if you don't maintain a curve in your spine (slight)

Also rolled shoulders / slouching but it your sitting that much in a day id suspect you need lumbar support try a rolled towel or extra pillow on your lower back 👍

I mean Ikea Marcus (chair model) solves all the problems listed.
It does exactly what you said.

Btw evolution is a bitch and back pain is the most common type of pain in the world next to depression and mental illness.

I just use an old bar stool I permanently borrowed from my dad.

Similar to this.

Yeah, yeah. One day I just got sooooo pissed at fuckin WHEELS in my computer chair that I just stole a stool from the kitchen. And it was actually really comfortable. After the move to Sri Lanka we were buying new furniture and after testing more computer chairs with these *damn wheels* I just fuckin couldn't and decided to use one of kitchen table chairs (with back support this time lol).

Bruh. I think you just outcompeted everyone on coolness. Hell, maybe even yourself... This is even cooler than 'oh, btw you know, my cat has a separate room'.

Mine looks similar, just not as cool. And it was only $80.

Yeah, they were surprisingly cheap when we bought them. I think they were only $90.

I checked now and the specific ones we got are $179 each, but there’s probably a similar one out there that’s still under $100.

I mentioned in the post above that we got them for $90 each but they go for $179 each now. They’re probably cheaper off of Amazon.

They’re pretty comfortable, but we added neck support cushions to ours to make them better.
