Got this from Namecheap today:

New rates for your domains

Hi there,

We partner with many registries to bring you a wide range of top-level domains, but occasionally their prices increase, which means we need to increase our prices too.

On July 1, 2026, the domain registry for the following domains will implement universal price increases for registrations, transfers, renewals, and reactivations.

Updated prices:

DomainRegistration/Transfer Original priceRegistration/Transfer New priceRenewal/Reactivate Original priceRenewal/Reactivate New price
.co$33.98$49.98$39.98$49.98
.com.co$12.98$19.98$17.98$26.98

Consider renewing before July 1st if you have some of these.

Everybody is raising the rates for everything, aren't they.

Good to know at least. I didn't see this email from Namecheap but I have a few .co domains. An extra $10+ basically.

Domains are going to be $500 in the future just watch.

Who uses .com.co

Like what is the thought process behind choosing that?

Hmmm yes I know for my brand I'll choose a TLD that looks even worse than .xyz.

That'll do just fine for branding purposes.
