For example, yesterday I screnshotted two instances where it happened:

I assume that one of the moderators or staff members were on invisible mode, but in that case, it would be better to not count them in the active members as well.

As a spy, i think i should be the one to be invisible
Wouldn't you preferred that if you're invisible, you are not counted toward the no. of active members as well?

But in that case, wouldn't incorrect data be displayed? For example, if you don’t want to appear online but are still actively using the site.

how about adding another option: 'Hidden'?

If someone wants to be hidden, why not allow them to be hidden without "snitching" that there's someone hidden?

I'm not against the Hidden status, but showing it now when we're just 43 members defeats the purpose of it.

When we'll have hundreds of active members online it won't be as obvious.

It might be a cron entry that doesn’t run often enough. I’ll take a look at it in the morning.

Thanks for pointing this one out. :)

Okay, I made some adjustments to the widget that should fix this.

I also tried testing some things, and it looks like even if you set you uncheck the box to display your online status, you still show up in the list for some reason.

I'll mark this as resolved for now, but let me know if it happens again.

maybe its counting hiding members?
@God was replying earlier and they aint counted.
Looking at their profile, it doesn't have the last seen so they must be hiding.

In that case, wouldn't it be better if they're not counted as well?

yah
or add them to "guest" side
but thats my theory on it.
I haven't seen the code.

Doesn't it check every X minutes? So if someone missed the previous check, comments and logs off before the next check they will not show up?
My assumption is that it performs the check of who's online and counts the online members at the same time, so they should align.
It could be something else, like what @Rem said.
