Norway will carry out a large-scale experiment to get more people to work. Tens of thousands of residents between the ages of 20 and 35 will receive tax breaks through a lottery.
Norway has implemented an experimental "tax lottery" program targeting young adults to see if financial incentives can successfully boost employment. The five-year trial randomly selects 100,000 residents aged 20 to 35 to receive an earned income tax deduction of up to NOK 125,000, which can lower their annual tax burden by up to NOK 27,500.
Is earned income tax deduction something that can motivate young people to work more? Norway is going to find out in a large experiment that has been nicknamed “the tax lottery.” The experiment has been commissioned by Norway’s Minister of Finance Jens Stoltenberg.

It is now launched, do you think it can boost the work hours of employed young people?
