AI-generated content is everywhere these days, there's no denying that. Right now, even some of the biggest forums have an influx of AI-generated content.

At the time of writing this, Office Outlaw does not have this problem, but as this forum grows, we will no doubt encounter this issue.

What Is Allowed?
There's no issue with using the AI language model for any of the following:
  • To fix your spelling and grammar.
  • To get ideas on how to respond.
  • Rephrasing or refining your content
  • To make adjustments to your written content (example: adjusting tone).
In regards to the last two, it's understandable to use it to adjust the tone of your content, especially if English isn't your first language. Just be wary of doing what isn't allowed in the section below.

What Isn't Allowed
Put simply, straight up copy/pasting whatever ChatGPT pumps out after you submit a basic prompt is prohibited.

If you need an example of this, then take a look at the image below:

If your content is blatantly AI-generated and our community members spot this, you will receive a notice about it in your inbox from a moderator and warning points.

It's been about 6 weeks since we started properly building this forum up.

A little while ago, one of our moderators messaged me stating that they had to give out a warning (we're trying to call them Notices) for AI spam.

It was someone new to the forum and from what I saw in the conversation that was shared with me, the moderator handled it very well and the member took it very well and responded politely. I was very happy to see this.

I just wanted to bump this thread about our stance on AI as I can imagine that some may join believing that we might have the same rule allowing this as another forum does. It's an easy mistake to make, but we don't allow straight up copy/paste content from ChatGPT, Grok, or any other AI language model. Particularly, it's the egregious content that other community members notice that we don't allow.

Our warning system, which we're looking to rename to a "notice system", is meant to guide members and not to punish them. As I've stated before, it's far better to help others become part of our community than it is to ban them.
