This is my Sony Walkman NWA-55 and the stupid "special" cable I need to charge it or transfer songs to it.

I can't stand cables like this one or Apples old 'lightning' cable. Even if it the cables were, for whatever reason, 'better' or 'faster', they're such as massive inconvenience whenever they break.

I have 3 of these special cables in total, but this one recently has been have issues. Sure, I can try fixing it, maybe it just needs to be stabilised somewhere, but I only have so many resources right now to work on this cable.

What's frustrating is that I can't even find the extra 2 cables I have for my music player. I'm starting to think I accidentally threw them out last month when I was cleaning out my storage closet.

So OO, how do you feel about these cables?

I'm glad Apple did away with those lightning cables and switched to USB-C.

What even is that cable in your picture? How manufactures come up with the idea of designing an entirely new cable for one random product is beyond me.

I have similar issues with some of my old phones. Whenever I want a bit of nostalgia, I have to search for the damn cable since they don’t use universal USB-C ports or anything. And if any of them break, good luck finding a replacement. They’re either almost impossible to find or ridiculously expensive, since no one makes them anymore. So, I don’t like them.

Fools sold me headphones with detachable cables, but you can't buy this type of cable separately at good price.

I broke this cable twice because it's just low quality one and it comes from audio-technica.

I can't get another one because warranty is gone long time ago.

No way I'm buying this type of product in my life again.

Sometimes they come with those split stereo jack cables you can replace. I have a pair of these and that’s what they have.

I had a pi air years ago though that had some special detachable cables. Could not for the life of me find a replacement when they broke.

Yeahhhh I have trouble finding one to my old phone that I used to use as an ebook reader so I guess I'm fucked now 😂. It must be somewhere here 😂. Else I have a pretty brick.

It’s called a WM-port.

Yeah, and any cheap ones you do find are so low quality that they break after a week.
