Plenty of suggestions and tons of ideas abound in this section. I don't want to create extra work, but it would be great if the pagination could also be at the top of each thread (next to or above/below the "Watch" button) on mobile.

For example, when I am reading replies and am at the top, I sometimes want to skip to the last page or go back to the first (if I have opened the thread through the "Latest Posts" widget).

Tip: As far as I can see, it is just hidden for mobile devices; it should be in the extra.less template.

Cheers.

I'll see what's doable with this and get back to you when I can. Sometimes, enabling these hidden things affects other parts of the site, but there's usually a workaround to prevent that sort of thing from happening.

The extra.less file is empty until you create custom styling rules without having to change it one of the core templates

Since pagination is like this by default, there's no code for this present in that file. It's like the view counter on portrait mode being hidden by default.

I had a quick look and this could be implemented with a little bit of code. It would look like this:

Apparently it was disabled by default because the dev team thought it added too much clutter to the top of the page on mobile. I can kind of see what they mean, but it also seems like a key feature that shouldn’t be missing.

Since this is a suggestion, I’ll wait to see other opinions, but I’m leaning towards implementing this.
